Diversity.

In contexts of diversity, black people always coincide with its name. You can go to countries in Africa where 99.9% of the population is black and it's by definition diverse. Therefore, diversity without black people is an impossible concept: a country where everyone was Mexican, Asian, White, or Jewish would not be a diverse country, by definition.

Conclusion: Without black people, diversity could not exist.

After some reflection, almost all bittersweet endings are really downer endings. They all have some sort of irreversible loss in them. Would you even recognize what a bittersweet ending should look like? A bittersweet ending would be a Croatian man dying, waking up, and finding himself isekai'd into a world where, him, his family, and his race occupies an analogous position to the Yamaguchi family and the Empire of Japan in the present world. And that isn't even a golden ending. You can barely conceive of that. That's how bleak and shitty your universe is. Which is the better choice for the final end of man: happiness, or quietude?

The Case for happiness being man's chief goal: Pro: Nobody wants to be miserable forever. Con: There are certain stories where the hero is happier even with (because of?) great pain and anguish. E.g. The Thing's ( Fantastic Four featuring Reed Richards) perpetual existence as an anthropomorphic rock creature even though, in some sense, he would rather be a human again. These seem analogous to the human story of the unhappy marriage, which is the oldest example of "tied hands" ever written. The Case for quietude being man's chief goal: Pro: It is simpler than the con brought up above. It captures the familiar notion that nobody, really, desires tied hands (like The Thing). Con: It's disrespected. Religions that teach quietism are considered cheeky, and in the Catholic Church, it is even heresy to state that quietude is the preferred end of man. It's a type of doubt.
